“The domestic violence shelters located on O`ahu and Hawai`i Island offer survivors up to 120 days in a safe haven when fleeing from an abusive situation. During this stay, survivors are welcomed with open arms and provided with support. Staff walk alongside them on the path towards healing and independence. The shelters offer counseling support and services for adults and children. Staff help in developing a safety plan, assistance in finding safe, permanent housing, and temporary basic needs such as food and clothing. All services are free for survivors. The locations of our shelters are confidential.”

Big Island Substance Abuse Council

Provides services for both adult and youth struggling with substance abuse and addiction. They have licensed providers who provide mental health services to current clients and the general public to address underlying issues to addiction and other mental health disorders. Their Therapeutic Living Program is a 24-hour fully staffed facility. They have a non-residential day treatment program as well as an outpatient treatment program.
